Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? We have you covered
What does the SandBar Foot Scrubber Mat actually do?

It makes actually washing your feet ridiculously easy.

The Foot Scrubber Mat is covered with hundreds of flexible silicone bristles that scrub and massage your feet while you stand on it in the shower. Instead of assuming the soapy water running past your ankles is somehow cleaning your feet, you’re physically scrubbing away the sweat, grime, loose dead skin, and everyday buildup they’ve collected.

And you don’t have to bend over, balance on one leg, or perform shower gymnastics to do it.

The Mat is your daily maintenance. It handles the everyday stuff before it has a chance to become bigger buildup. When your heels develop thicker, dry callused skin that the Mat can’t scrub away, that’s when you bring in your SandBar Foot File.

Scrub daily. File when needed.

Your feet haul your ass around all day. The least you can do is actually wash them.

How do I use the SandBar Foot Scrubber Mat?

Stick the Mat securely to the floor of your shower and keep one foot planted firmly on it.

Apply a small amount of Sole Soap to the heel of your other foot, then start working that foot back and forth across the silicone bristles. Scrub your heel, arch, ball of your foot, around your toes, and anywhere else that could use some attention.

Put some body weight into it and let the bristles do the work.

Then switch feet and repeat.

When you’re finished, rinse the Mat and hang it up on the suction-cup hook that comes with it so it can drain and dry between showers.

That’s it.

No bending over. No balancing act. No excuses.

Is a Foot Scrubber Mat better than a washcloth or loofah?

For washing the bottoms of your feet? Absolutely.

A washcloth or loofah means bending over or balancing on one foot while you try to scrub the other. The Foot Scrubber Mat lets you use your own body weight and hundreds of silicone bristles to thoroughly scrub and massage your feet while you’re standing right on top of it.

And those bristles can get around your heels, arches, toes, and all the little areas that are easy to half-ass with a washcloth.

A washcloth can wipe your feet.

The Foot Scrubber Mat lets you scrub them.

There’s a difference.

Do I need to use Sole Soap with the Foot Scrubber Mat?

You need to use some type of soap or cleanser with the Foot Scrubber Mat. Those silicone bristles need some slip so your feet can glide back and forth across them. Try using the Mat dry and your foot is basically going to stick to it.

But do we think you should use Sole Soap?

Hell yes.

If you’re buying a Foot Scrubber Mat, chances are your feet need some attention. This isn’t where we want you to finally start taking care of them—and then cheap out on what you’re scrubbing into your skin.

Sole Soap was formulated specifically for the thick, hardworking skin on your feet, and it was designed to work with the Foot Scrubber Mat. Add a little Sole Soap to your heel, start scrubbing, and those hundreds of silicone bristles whip it into a glorious lather while they massage and work it all over your foot.

That’s when the Mat becomes magical.

Could you use another soap? Sure. But if you want the experience we designed—and the combination that makes taking care of your feet ridiculously easy—get the Sole Soap.

Trust us on this one.

The Foot Scrubber Mat may make you fall in love with scrubbing your feet.

Sole Soap + the Mat might make you fall in love with your feet.

Do I really need to scrub my feet every day?

Every day you use your feet, you should wash them.

Your feet have about 250,000 sweat glands, and the soles contain one of the highest concentrations of sweat glands on your body. Then you put them in socks and shoes, walk around on them all day, work out, go barefoot, and expose them to whatever the hell is underneath you.

And somehow the feet themselves are usually the part we forget to actually wash.

Daily scrubbing helps remove the sweat, grime, loose dead skin, and everyday buildup before it gets a chance to accumulate.

This is proactive foot care at its simplest.

Don’t wait until your feet smell, feel gross, or look neglected to start paying attention to them.

Scrub them every day.

This will become the favorite part of your shower routine.

Will the suction cups stick to my shower floor?

The Foot Scrubber Mat has 20 suction cups on the bottom to help stabilize it while you scrub, but how well they grip depends on your shower surface.

Smooth shower floors give the suction cups the best chance to form a strong seal. Heavily textured tile, grout lines, or uneven surfaces may prevent some—or all—of the suction cups from fully adhering.

Don’t assume it’s glued to the floor. Keep one foot planted firmly on the Mat while you scrub the other, brace yourself when needed, and use common sense on a wet surface.

We want your feet fabulous.

We don’t want you taking out the shower curtain on your way down.

Can I use the Foot Scrubber Mat in a bathtub?

Absolutely.

If you’re taking a bath, you can stick the Mat to the side of the tub and rub your feet across the silicone bristles with Sole Soap while you soak. You won’t get quite the same big, glorious lather you get standing on it in the shower, but you still get the scrubbing and massage.

Then, when you’re ready to get out, put the Mat flat on the floor of the tub near the drain, add a little Sole Soap to your heel, and use it the same way you would in the shower. Keep one foot planted, use your body weight to work the other foot back and forth across the bristles, switch feet, and rinse.

Just remember that suction depends on the surface of your tub. Make sure the Mat is stable and you’ve got something secure to hold onto before standing and scrubbing.

Shower or bath—we don’t care.

Just scrub your damn feet.

What if my feet are sensitive or really ticklish?

Buck up, buttercup.

Okay, we’re kidding. Kind of.

The soles of your feet are incredibly sensory and packed with touch receptors that give your brain information about what’s happening underneath you. So if hundreds of silicone bristles feel like a LOT the first few times you use the Mat, you’re not weird. Your feet are doing what feet do.

Start gently. Don’t grind the hell out of your feet on day one. Use light pressure, move slowly, and give yourself a chance to get accustomed to the sensation. As it becomes more familiar, you may find yourself using more pressure and actually looking forward to that foot massage.

But don’t skip taking care of your feet just because they’re ticklish.

They still need to be washed. They still need to be scrubbed. And those hardworking feet deserve some attention.

Toughen up. Your feet will thank you.

Can I use the Foot Scrubber Mat if my heels are dry or cracked?

Absolutely. That’s exactly when consistent foot care matters most.

The silicone bristles give you a way to gently scrub away everyday grime and loose, dead buildup without attacking your heels with an aggressive tool every time you shower.

Just don’t turn it into a punishment. Scrubbing shouldn’t hurt, and you don’t need to grind cracked heels into submission.

This is also where we strongly recommend pairing the Mat with Sole Soap. It was formulated specifically for feet, with effective cleansing ingredients plus skin-conditioning ingredients, rather than leaving the soap you’re working all over dry, stressed skin completely to chance.

Scrub with Sole Soap. Use your Foot File when heavier buildup needs to be smoothed away. Then follow with Heel Polish for moisture.

Scrub. Smooth. Moisturize.

That’s how you get neglected feet back under control—and keep them there.

Does the Foot Scrubber Mat help with foot odor?

Actually washing your feet is a pretty damn good place to start.

Feet sweat—a lot. When sweat, dead skin, grime, and bacteria spend hours hanging out together inside socks and shoes, things can get funky.

The Foot Scrubber Mat helps you physically scrub the skin instead of simply rinsing your feet and hoping for the best. Pair it with Sole Soap and thoroughly clean the bottoms, sides, heels, and around your toes every day.

Then rinse and dry your feet thoroughly, especially between your toes.

The Mat isn’t a magic deodorizer.

It just makes it really hard to pretend you washed your feet when you didn’t.

How big is the SandBar Foot Scrubber Mat?

The Mat is 10 inches in diameter—big enough to comfortably scrub your feet without taking over your entire shower.

It has 20 suction cups on the bottom to help stabilize it while you’re scrubbing, plus a small loop for hanging.

Every Mat also comes with a suction-cup hook so you can get it up off the shower floor when you’re finished.

Because your Foot Scrubber Mat is here for a good time—not a long-term relationship with your shower floor.

Hang it. Let it drain and dry. It’ll be waiting for you tomorrow.

How do I clean and store my Foot Scrubber Mat?

This one’s easy.

When you’re finished scrubbing your feet, rinse the Mat thoroughly with clean water to wash away the soap and anything you just scrubbed off your feet.

Then hang it from the loop using the suction-cup hook that comes with it and let it drain and dry.

Don’t leave it lying in a puddle on your shower floor indefinitely. You just cleaned your feet. Let’s not make the thing you clean them with gross.

Rinse it. Hang it. Done.

How long does the Foot Scrubber Mat last?

Apparently forever.

Okay, maybe not literally—but I’m still using the original prototype I started testing four years ago.

It’s made from durable silicone, so there aren’t traditional brush bristles wearing down, batteries dying, or moving parts waiting to break.

Rinse it after you use it, hang it up to dry, and don’t let it spend its life marinating on the shower floor.

This isn’t something you should need to replace every few months.

Take care of it, and your Foot Scrubber Mat should be scrubbing your feet for years.
