How often should I use SandBar?

Every day you use your calluses. Every time you grip, lift, swing, climb, or put friction and pressure on your hands, your skin responds by building more callus. The goal is to stay ahead of that buildup so your calluses stay smooth, functional, and less likely to rip.

Think of your SandBar like a toothbrush for your calluses. Regular maintenance only takes a few seconds on each hand—you’re not trying to remove your calluses, just keep excess buildup from accumulating in the first place.

Keep your SandBar in your gear bag and use it before training, after training, or both, depending on what your hands need.

How do I clean my SandBar?

Every once in a while, dead skin can build up in the abrasive surface and make your SandBar feel a little dull. Just use the silicone scrubber that came with it to clean out the grit. Depending on how often you use your SandBar, that might be every couple of weeks or once a month.

If you have heavier buildup, spray it with Dawn Powerwash, let it sit for a minute, then use the silicone scrubber to clean it out. Rinse it off and you’re good to go. SandBar is aluminum and completely waterproof.

When you’re not using it, keep your SandBar in its protective case to protect the grit—especially when you’re carrying it in your gear bag.

Can I use my SandBar in the shower?

Abso-flippin-lutely. SandBar is aluminum and waterproof, so use it wherever you want. However, we recommend filing your calluses dry. Dry buildup files down faster and more effectively, so you can get the job done in just a few seconds.

What's the SandBar Callus File made of?

SandBar is made from anodized aluminum with a proprietary abrasive surface specifically designed for callused skin. The grit is aggressive enough to smooth excess buildup quickly, but controlled enough for consistent maintenance without obliterating the protective callus underneath.

Is SandBar better than a razor or callus remover blade?

For regular callus maintenance, yes. Razors and blades are designed to slice across the top of a callus, often removing too much and forcing your hands to rebuild that protection.

The whole idea behind SandBar is to never let your calluses get thick enough to need a razor in the first place. A few seconds of consistent filing keeps excess buildup in check while leaving the protective callus underneath intact.

And unlike a flat blade, SandBar’s round shape gets into the center of the callus and follows your natural grip, smoothing all of your calluses together in seconds. You’re maintaining them at an optimal thickness—not obliterating them and starting over.

Will SandBar work if my calluses aren't very thick yet?

Not really, and that's by design. SandBar is built to manage established buildup, not soft, newly forming skin. If you're just starting to callus up from training, give it a few weeks to harden before you bring in the file — it's not meant to speed that process up, just maintain it once it's there.

Pole dance callus relief

As a pole dancer, I’ve always have build up callus in my hands to the point it was painful, until this amazing product! Once it landed on my door step I followed the instructions and started filling my callus down and with the salve; I have regained having soft hands again. Even you don’t pole dance and need to get rid of those stubborn callus, this is a must! I admit it is pricy but worth the relief

Set a reminder for one year after you get your sandbar. That’s when your calluses are going to start tearing again. I’m on my third one now. It works so well to prevent tearing. I’ve got my alarm set for next year!

Only complaint is not just being provided the tracking number once it’s shipped. You’re directed to download the Shop app to see tracking info, and the app still says “waiting for information” when the package was actually already in my mailbox. I also just on principle don’t want to have to download a third party app just to track a package. And to have the app not even work was extra annoying. Just give me the tracking number and let me look it up myself!

Aside from that, this is a great product and I highly recommend!

This has been the ultimate solution to ripping and keeping the callouses on my hand under control. I use this on my hands about once or twice and week. Ever since I started I have NOT RIPPED ONCE. If you are on the fence, just give it a try. I know it’s a bit pricey, but after ripping my hands so many times in CrossFit, the suffering is over!

This is a great product for your blisters

This product is works for pain relief. If you want to get rid of the dead skin on your blisters and is amazing. To get rid of that pain you have when you do pull-ups on the bar, or other exercises. This definitely helps you get better and have more Performance and speed. This makes your hands a lot smoother and has a lot of value to it.
