Glycerin. Ever heard of it? I’m sure you know the name, but you probably don’t know what it does.

Glycerin is an ingredient used in most lotions as the main moisturizing ingredient. Sounds nice, right? It’s capable of drawing water from the air into the skin’s outer layer. It also forms a protective shield that prevents moisture loss. Only one problem. And it’s a deal-breaker.

Glycerin works. Depending on where you live.

The moisturizing effects of glycerin are completely dependent on climate. If the air has less than 65-70% humidity, glycerin draws the moisture from the lower layers of your skin and pulls it up to the surface. That actually dries skin out faster.

The salve solution.

Don’t think I’m anti-lotion. I’m just anti-glycerin pulling all my hard-earned moisture out of my body. It takes time and effort to drink all that water to keep up with any active lifestyle and reach my health goals. It’s worth all the extra peeing. It’s not worth extra dryness.

SandBar Salve Animation

SandBar salve was intentionally formulated to moisturize your skin without stealing from your existing water reserves inside your body.

Quality ingredients matter.

You care about the health of your body inside and out. You work hard (the proof is your calloused hands) so you know that quality time and tools make the most of your efforts. That’s why you need SandBar salve. The calluses you’re building by training hard need to be ready to work with you, every single day. Moisturizer isn’t going to get you there. SandBar salve will. Because we only use quality ingredients:

  • Calendula oil: antifungal, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial
  • Moringa oil: cleanser, moisturizer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant

“Moringa oil is a powerhouse of oleic acid, making it a highly moisturizing oil and one that may benefit dry and sensitive skin. [It also supports the skin barrier, which is] vital for protecting us from external insults, such as pollution, and is also critical to sealing in hydration.”

-- Erika Klemperer, dermatologist

  • Lavandin oil: pain reliever, anti-inflammatory
  • Tea Tree oil: antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antifungal
  • Arrowroot flour: thickening agent
  • Vitamin E: prevents scarring, wounds heal faster
Work hard. Moisturize smart. First, filebefore applying any kind of lotion or salve. Second, use SandBar salve for penetrating and lasting benefits. Because calluses are awesome and we want them to be strong and healthy. Just like you.
